RE: Alloy Editor
I surely don't understand why there are so many issues, but CK is capable and hope that the issues can be resolved with less regressions.
IIRC the properties that you can add to portal-ext.properties to use CK in lieu of Alloy should still be supported. Have you tried those?
Yeah many times. It would be a great idea if when setting CK as the editor it at least used the inline editor mode of CK so that the experiences between the two lined up somewhat. I have seen where setting CK has no effect and Alloy is forced through regardless I just can't recall which portlets that occurred in.
It's not just Alloy in isolation, it's how it works in the context of DXP. Look at this forum right now, the publish and reply button look the same, hitting reply will wipe out this text and cause user frustration (not everyone will know to ctrl+z).
Alloy is the biggest area of complaint I hear aside from timeouts causing users to loose their unsaved edits. I would think assembling an Alloy user group would be helpful in at least it would be an opportunity to know that it's not just a narrow set of users struggling.

Feature request that should not be ignored any longer ... We can't set consistent image dimensions. The editor is lacking so many features that would help content editors produce content. The editor gets in the way and ruins the experience.
