How to add a localized version of a (PDF) document in the Document Library
I am using Liferay 7.0.4 and I am trying to add a localized version of an existing PDF document in the document library.
So I click on the "Add translation" button, and select the additional language. The second language appears as a "button" below the default language
Then I click on the language "button" that appears below the standard language to make that language the "active" one (the new language is highlighted now). When I now upload a new PDF it replaces the existing PDF in the default language leaving me with the PDF document that is no not in the standard language, but will be treated as such.
I am also unable to find out how I can localize the title of that document so that it would display correctly e.g. in the asset publisher depending on the user's language. The little flags below the title (as I know them from the WebContent Portlet) aren't available.
What am I missing here? Do I need to change some property to enable localized documents?

So this does not seem to be possible.
As a workaround we wanted to create multiple documents, each one with a different default language.
But then I hit the next roadblock: I can't figure out how to tell the Asset Publisher to only show documents in the current user's language?
Is that possible? If yes, how? Maybe through an "Application Display Template" that filters out the documents in the wrong language?

Hi ,Document Library Portlet doesn't support localized document but supports localized title and description
As per your requirement may be you can use Web Content structure or Document Type and in that you can use Document Upload field which will be localized

That's disappointing .
We can't really convert hundreds of PDFs to "WebContent", so we'll need to find a different solution then.

May be using Document Type can help you

How? I'm looking ath the "Edit" form for a document in 7.3 and is seems there isn't any way of editing the title/description in other languages.
Am I missing something?
TIA
