Dear community,

I am using Liferay DXP 7.1 SP1.

We are currently creating a company intranet where users are dispatched across multiples sites which are all inheriting from a common one (let's call it the "main one").

Site "childA" inherits from "main one" and content sharing is enabled. In "main one", I have one message board (forum) portlet deployed. There are already some categories and threads. From "childA", I wish I could share the same message board where some categories may show up or not depending on permissions (all users have relevant rights in "main one").

However, when you deploy a portlet on a page, you can only select 3 scopes:
  1. global
  2. your site
  3. a new scope (which takes the name from your page)
I wish I could select the parent site "main one".

How can I acheive this requirement ?

Thank you,

PS: I am using Entreprise Edition and understand I can submit this case to the support however it happens the community has other/better ideas

Same problem happens with "Document and Library" portlet.
