RE: Manage multi Sites
Hi everyone!
I need to find a solution for the next problem.
For one hand, i have a site and in one page of this site i have webContents with links to others Liferay independent sites.
The requirement is to integrate this linked sites in the main site in order to keep the main site URL, menu and theme..., i want to ask the best solution to implement this task. For now, I've thinked this solutions:
Basically, i'm trying to find a solution more than an implementation. Do you faced of this kind of problem before?
Kind regards,

- I can use the same Web Content but when click on the link, instead of open the URL in a new window, i can open an Iframe with the site linked. This solution have the problem of the have two menus in the page, two scrolls, and the most important problem. Both sites have login and client wants that if I'm logged in in the Parent site, in the moment to open the other site in the Iframe, they want to open this site when the user logged in, is it possible?
- I can try to create parent and childs sites, but i don't really know how its work.
Basically, i'm trying to find a solution more than an implementation. Do you faced of this kind of problem before?
Kind regards,
Íñigo

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to achieve. Do you just want links from your maine site the the other sites? Have you tried looking into the Sites Directory or the My Sites widget to see if these might meet your requirements?
Sorry, i can try to explain better.
The requirement is the following.
I have a main site, let's call him "dad". In a page in dad site i have a link to other site, let's call him "baby", this baby site is not located in mi liferay server, i haven't this site in my sites on liferay, is independent. The client wants to continue being in the same site,Dad site, but seeing the content of the baby site, because the wants to be on Dad site althought the content he wants to see is on baby site.
i think to use an Iframe, but i think is not the cleanest or better option, besides, we will have to develop a custom porlet to sign on baby site if the user is current logged in on a dad site, we have to develop a single sing on between sites.
I'm just asking for the optimal solution for this requirement.

Iframe is probably the simplest solution. If the baby site has an API you can access, the alternative is to create some portlets in your Liferay site that pulls in the data from "baby" and display them in "dad".
