Hi guys,

I'm starting to use Liferay Sync with a group of people and I'm experiencing a problem with libreoffice lockfiles.

On a normal folder (not the Sync folder) I open a file with LibreOffice, a lockfile is created, then I close the file and the lockfile disappears.

When doing the same in the Sync folder the lockfile is not deleted and stays forever. Liferay Sync replicates it to the other users and nobody else can open the file.

I'm using Liferay CE 7 ga5 on the server and Sync 3.4.4 on Windows.

Is there anyway I can debug Liferay Sync on windows so that I understand what is happening?

Is there anyway I can disable sync for certain files (not sure this would be a good solution, though).

Any other ideas for a solution?

Can you provide the following info so I can try reproducing?

- Operating System
- LibreOffice version
- LibreOffice app you're using (Writer, Calc, etc)

I created SYNC-1778 to track this issue. It should be fixed in the next release.

The fix for this issue will be included in the GA release of Sync 3.4.5.

 

You can try the beta version of 3.4.5 to confirm the issue is fixed: download link

I have been having the same problem with OOoLilypond and MuseScore extensions. These extensions take the source file and generate an image file which is then imported into Libreoffice. Since v. 4 of Libreoffice it keeps the output file locked and therefore the extensions cannot overwrite it. Overwriting the file is important to update any changes made to the score.
