Liferay Sync 3 now supports SSO

The Sync team is pleased to announce SSO support in the latest releases of Liferay Sync desktop and mobile clients. Any SSO implementation that works against Liferay Portal will work with Liferay Sync as well (SiteMinder, OpenSSO, OAM, SAML, Shibboleth, etc). Please note this feature is for Portal EE customers only.

Below are some screenshots showing the login flow using Liferay's SAML Provider (the same SSO implementation when logging into www.liferay.com).

To try out Liferay Sync in your SSO environment, please install the latest Sync Connector EE app on your Portal 6.2 EE, download the latest Liferay Sync clients, and follow the configuration steps described in the documentation.

Hallo Dennis,
I found no possibility to use Liferay Sync together with SAML (Liferay is SP).
All issues I found care about SSO together with OAuth.
Could you please give me some hints?

Hi Jürgen,

Liferay Sync will work with SAML using OAuth as well. After enabling OAuth through the Sync Connector Admin app, Sync clients will present a browser view to authenticate via SAML. After the initial authentication, the client will use OAuth tokens to secure future requests.
