Hi Everyone, if you read my recent post on our upcoming Q3 Release Webinars (and if you haven't yet, remember to register!) you'll remember that I said I'm taking on a much more prominent role in the Liferay Community. One of the things I (and Liferay as a whole) want to do is make our interactions with and between you much more effective.

Ask has played a hugely valuable role over the years (if you look carefully you'll see the posts date back 20 years!) but it's time has come. In the next few days we'll be launching a brand new discussion forum that we hope will provide you with a much better environment to ask your questions, and allow us to be much more proactive in answering!

We don't want to wait around to do this, so we need to start making a few changes immediately:

1. We're removing the ability to add new topics - this is happening right now!
2. We will then make Ask entirely read-only - no new topics, no replies, no comments - this will happen in a few days.
3. Then, when we're happy that everything we need is in the new forums we'll remove the old data entirely - this will happen in about a year.

We're super-excited about this change - which is why we're moving as fast as we are! But, we understand you might have questions - if you do, please let us know at community@liferay.com or in the comments below.

In the meantime - watch this space!
