Bundles and other download options

If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA72 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA72 release on the download page.  If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.

Dependency Management

For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the  latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:

dependencies {
	compileOnly group: "com.liferay.portal", name: "release.portal.api"

All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects file:

liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga72

When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

Manage permissions for Objects entries through APIs

Now it is possible to manage and check the permissions of the object entries directly from the headless APIs.

For each object definition, two new endpoints are available. One to retrieve the permissions that apply to that individual Object entry and another one that allows users to set/update the permissions that apply to that entry.

All query parameters available in the API explorer

Now it is possible to use all query parameters available from the API explorer. Parameters such as fields, nestedFields or flatten accessible and ready to use in your test queries.

Improved Support for Objects in the Search Widgets

Support for Object display pages in the search results, aggregating (via Custom Facet widget), filtering (Custom Filter widget) and sorting (Sort widget) using Object fields that are indexed as Nested Fields in Elasticsearch, similar to Web Content Structure (DDM) fields.
