Download options
Liferay Portal and Liferay Commerce share the same Bundle and Docker image. To get started using either Liferay Portal or Liferay Commerce, choose the best download option suited for your environment below.
Docker image
To use Liferay Portal 7.4 GA73:
docker run -it -p 8080:8080 liferay/portal:7.4.3.73-ga73
Bundles and other download options
If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA73 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA73 release on the download page. If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.
Dependency Management
For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:
All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.
By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects gradle.property file:
liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga73

New options while using ratings in D&M

With this new feature an admin should be able to help preconfigure a publication to help facilitate their unique workflows.
Publication templates can be leveraged to provide naming patterns to any created publication. Tokens are provided to allow each publication to have unique names.
Admins can also assign roles to users immediately during publication creation.
Manage tags and categories for Object Entries through APIs
Now users can manage the tags and categories associated with the Objects entries from the REST APIs. When an Object has Categorization enabled, properties for tags and categories will be exposed in the Object entries schemas. Users can retrieve the information, set or update the tags and categories associated with the Object entries as well as use the information of these fields to filter information
Creation of a new property called upgrade.report.dl.storage.size.timeout that specifies the number of seconds that the upgrade report generation will wait for calculating the DL size before timing out. This property is set to 10 by default but it can be modified in the portal-ext.properties file.
