It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing that I am leaving Liferay to pursue other opportunities. Friday, August 2nd was my last day. The Liferay Faces project will continue to be in the capable hands of Neil Griffin.
It’s been more than 6 years since Neil hired me to work on the Liferay Faces team, and from almost day 1, he encouraged me to get involved with the community. I immediately loved it. Working with you fine Faces folks in the forums was one of the highlights of my job. My second blog post details all the ways our interactions helped the Faces project and me personally. I could list many more benefits now, but instead I’ll just say that community interaction has been invaluable to the Faces project. It has been such a pleasure working with all of you, and I hope to continue to do so as a community member. Please keep on posting your Liferay Faces questions, and if I know the answer, I’ll try to chime in.
Thanks again to Neil for giving me the opportunity work on Liferay Faces and encouraging me to post in the forums. Thanks to Juan Gonzalez and David Nebinger who modeled how to be a helpful community member. And finally thanks to the Liferay community (especially Liferay Faces developers) for asking so many great questions and providing such great feedback over the years.
Thanks for everything, and don’t forget to include the shortest, simplest code sample that reproduces your issue!
