I'm not sure what you mean by "Newsletter" but there is an "Announcement" portlet under "News".

Hi,
The newsletters are information and news, regularly sent by e-mail to a group of users who have previously registered.
The Announcement portlet not think it's useful for this.

Thanks.

If you want to sent email, then Announcement portlet is not what you need.

As was mentioned, Message Board portlet is a much better alternative.
First, Liferay does not contain a mailing list nor a mail server, so you need to set that up separately.

To setup Message Board to use sent to a mailing list,
1: Control Panel -> Message Boards -> Add Category
2. Enter name of category (e.g. xxx Announcements) and check "Active" under Mailing List
Items to enter mail server information should appear.

Next, go to some page and Add Message Board portlet.
1. Add -> More... -> Collaboration -> Message Board
2. Click on the wrench icon on the upper right hand side of the portlet
3. Select "Configuration"
4. In the General Tab, uncheck all the items
5. Go to the "Emal From" tab and enter sender information
6. Go to "Message Added Email" tab and enter message format

This Forum(Message Board portlet) also could work like a newsletter.

Thank you for your very useful pointers.
But, How do I configure the email in the message boards?
In configuration --> Message Added Email, how do I define the variable [$ $ MAILING_LIST_ADDRESS] and other attributes?

Thanks.

You can add new variables to the format of the emails or define templates to display the content of the messages posted on the forums? to serve as newsletter?

Thanks!!
