What are the Hardware Requirements for Liferay Portal usually?
Hi,
I am using Liferay 6.2 with JBoss bundle, jdk 1.6, PostgreSQL database and RHEL OS for a portal. Daily 1400-1500 user visit and login is expected.
Please provide Hardware Requirements of Server for Liferay portal in the above condition.
Moreover, please specify the RAM memory and JAVA_OPTS.
Thanks in advance.

"It depends (TM)".
If all your 1500 users come into the office at the same time and log into the portal at 8:00 in the morning, the answer is different than with a distributed timing throughout the day.
1500 users per day (assuming they're distributed and not all at the same time) seem to be easily handled by almost any system. However, it also depends on your own implementations: If you're implementing your own portlets that store 1 MB in the session for each user, you'll need to account for that user.
Please download Liferay's Performance Whitepaper to have an idea of the scenarios that have been tested with Liferay - it documents various numbers, and they all depend on the number of concurrent users as well as the usage scenario. Add information about your own customizations (that only you can know) and you have your numbers.
Thank you Olaf for your comments. I will definitely follow your preferred document.
Thanks for the link, really it is very helpful.
