RE: Export LAR and import it again fails
Hello Everyone,
I am investigating LR 6.0.5 import capabilities. I've tried the simplest scenario - export the content into LAR file and then import it back again.
When all the content was exported and imported in Data Strategy 'Mirror', it was Ok.
When I've changed the strategy to 'Copy as new', import has failed:
You have entered invalid data. Please try again.
An unexpected error occurred while importing your file.
There is just WIKI portlet in my portal and in the commandline log I see something like DuplicatePageException.
I've also found that I get another errors when importing data if just Wiki content was checked in export settings. Is it impossible to export and import just the WIKI content?
I am trying to find out the best way how to import data from our system in form of LR WIKI. My idea is to mimics the LAR format and place just one WIKI node into it with all the children pages, not anything else. Now it is not very clear what is happening during the import process and if there is a chance that my proposal will work.
Do you have any experience with importing data? What is the best scenario when just part of data is to be imported without any impact on the rest of the portal?
Regards,
Jan

I've tried several scenarios and import seems to be not very reliable...
There are two communities in my LR. Each of them has own WIKI portlet with two nodes.
When the LAR file exported from one community is imported into another one with default settings, everything is Ok. If this LAR file is imported again, import fails
with the error DuplicateFileException (with the link to one attachment). Only deleting of the current WIKI nodes helps (to be able to import LAR data). It is not problem with my testing data, but in reality?
There could be any setting in the import page where the option 'keep original file' or 'replace the current with the imported one' could be selected in these cases... or is there another cause of my problems?

Did you find any possible ways to import lar files?
When importing an exported wiki as mirror into a clean new wiki i don't get any errors, but i don't see any of my wiki nodes. It is just still empty.

I haven't enough time to investigate it further, I hoped there is just some my fault, but your observations seems to be a strange confirmation that it will be pain to import my data into WIKI automatically. And I have them a lot :-(
Finally I use a special WIKI importer. That LAR way turned out to be not very reliable and additionally more complex than import via LR API. So these LAR import problems don't scare me any more.
