Hi All,

I am analyzing, how liferay could take an advantage and suits the infrastructure on cloud. So someone could help me for the below questions.

1. Can someone tell how liferay make use of cloud computing ?

2. Pros and Cons of the liferay on the use of cloud ?

3. Any real time example of liferay cloud ?

4. which version of liferay use the concept of cloud ? . I guess the version after v5.

If you come to know. please tell me.

Hi Mlike Brown,

Mlike Brown:

1. Can someone tell how liferay make use of cloud computing ?

Liferay, like any web application, can make use of cloud computing by making liferay hosting available on cloud infrastructure.
But maybe I misunderstood your question, why are you asking this?

Mlike Brown:

2. Pros and Cons of the liferay on the use of cloud ?

Like for any web application, there are some Pros and Cons of using cloud infrastructure.
Googling for 'Pros and Cons of Cloud Computing' found this:

IMHO, the disadvantages can be solved, flexibility is the main advantage.

3. Any real time example of liferay cloud ?

Liferay promotes installing its installer on Cloud hosting providers:

Firelay (www.firelay.com) and Omegabit (http://www.omegabit.com/) provide Liferay PaaS (Platfrom as a service) solutions.

Maybe do you mean: "is Liferay available as a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution"?
Check out Firelay and Omegabit mentioned above. Their service is more targeted at developers or self-service users, but you _can_ use Liferay as a portal admin and start without needing developers.

Good luck!
