RE: Encoding Problem [SOLVED]
Hi

I just installed liferay 4.0.0 on OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2 using Oracle10g R2 Database. I have encoding problems showing the portal pages in spanish. I get

DÃÂÂÂÂÂÂa

characters. I searched the forums, set -Dfile.encoding, set NLS_LANG, set Control Panel Regional Settings. The only thing I can't change is the database character encoding that is ISO-8859-1 because the production database has this encoding. How can I make liferay work with this database encoding?
Can somebody please tell me at least if this is possible?.

I've been waiting for days for an answer and if Liferay can't use databases that are not in UTF-8 then I have no other choice but to look for other portal solutions.
I've used different Oracle databases.

I've used different values for -Dfile.encoding.

I've used different values for NLS_LANG.

It keeps sending garbage characters.
I have same problems with PostgreSQL and MySQL: http://www.liferay.com/web/guest/community/forums/message_boards/message/81929
we have the same problem. Does anyone know the solution.
We're using LR 5.1.1, Oracle 10g and Weblogic 10
thank you.

Hi, we 've probably found the problem.
The problem happens with a JRockit R27 and not with a R26.
So we're now asking for BEA support lol.
Thank you.
