RE: Upgrading Hessian 2.1.12 in Liferay 4.4.2
Hi
Does anyone have any experience / information whether it is possible to upgrade the Hessian 2.1.12 library to a newer version in Liferay 4.4.2?
According to ext.lib.versions.html, Liferay 4.4.2 is using Hessian 2.1.12. Having looked into the same file in Liferay 5.1.2, I found that still the same old version is used. However, Hessian 3.2.0 is the current version already and 2.1.12 is not even offered for download anymore.
The reason why I am asking about this is that I have run into the issue filed under LEP-3978. Having searched the web for related topics, I found hints that com.caucho.hessian.io.JavaDeserializer might have issues in early versions of Hessian and I am wondering if it was possible to switch to a later version in Liferay (4.4.2) with limited effort.
Can anyone help me with this?
PS.: I have searched the blogs, the forum and the wiki about this question but I found no information about it.

Hi
I also noticed that Liferay 4.4.2 has a dependency on Spring 2.5.0. However, Spring 2.5.0 transitively depends on Hessian 3.0.20. So why is there in Liferay 4.4.2 the dependency from Hessian 2.1.12?
Richie.
