RE: 7.2 A1 - Minor issues: Document library detail screen
But I guess, the top menu should be cleaned up too. (See attached images)
2) There is another minor inconsistency:
In the list view, the download link in the dropdown menu is without version. On the detail page, the download button link contains a version=
I think, this should be consistent.
3) Maybe you could also update the mouseover text on the button on the detail page to state "Download version 1.0 (1 M

4) Personally I would prefer, if all buttons (list and detail page) would always "Download latest version", but I am not sure, what's best here and what most people expect. Just stating my preference.
6) In general, I think the info column needs some redesign.
- Why is the image shown a second time in the right column? It is redundant and needs space.
- All metadata could be in one accordion (document type, extension, size, ... + automatically extracted metadata)
- Since comments are on the left, stars/ratings could IMHO be on the left too
- I would place the versions (accordion, default closed) below the "Download" button in the info column. Button downloads current version, Version list could show also "current version" for the first version. There you would find the link to that version.
Well, maybe you could think about it, even if it won't make it in the current version.

1. We have an open ticket to track this issue: LPS-89954
2-4. All the download buttons/links will always download the latest version (unless you're in the Versions tab, of course). If this isn't occurring, it's a bug. However, it is inconsistent that some Download URL's explicitly include the version and others don't. There may be a technical reason for this, I'll pass it on to the team.
6. Good considerations. I'll pass them on to the team.
You are right, my description was unclear here, it always downloads the latest version. But sometimes the version parameter is there and sometimes it is not. But it is still not the same, if you copy that link. Then it is a link to a specific version, not to the latest version.
That's the reason I noticed: I often right click the download button in document library to get the link. And it is quite annoying that I have to delete the version info then. It doesn't really matter a lot in most cases, but I still want the link to always point to the most current version of that document.
Number 4 should be the default setting ... No version numbers in URL's outside the version panel. The "Latest Version URL" should never contain a version number or a timestamp only a UUID and filename. I have found the timestamp to be causing issues for our users and I think it came into the GetURL link of 7.0 in Fixpack 60.
I requested a "friendly URL" feature request:
https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-95217
So even moving documents to a different folder or site breaks the link if the UUID was removed and this needs to be fixed. A Document URL should stay as static and as simple as possible. My prefrence would be, domain/documents/UUID/filename : http://localhost:8080/documents/a449339d-36e7-eda2-b2fc-73afe09844d2/Ray.png and then if needed the version or timestamp can go at the end. In my expereince both the timestamp and the version number cause more problems than they fix.
Checkboxes. Checkboxes are the answer here because it feels like since we did deploy Fixpack 64 our document link issues worsened. If we had checkboxes in the control panel, we can control what the URL behaviours should be.
