Notifying certain Users when I publish a form or app builder app

This is a feature request.

Forms and App Builder support deploying standalone forms/apps. These are accessed by direct link. This begs the question, "how do I share and preserve the link"?

It would be nice to have a publication feature, "Publish and Notify", so that I can choose to, at a minimum, email Users or User Collections (User Groups, Organization Users, Role Users, Account Users, etc.) that might need to act when I publish. No fancy templating capabilities should be needed, simply the ability to, in addition to the link, add a message and choose the users to notify. Perhaps the fields in the existing Email Notifications functionality (for emailing an alert when form entries are submitted) are applicable to a publication notification email as well.

Like a workflow assignee can receive a notification for items that have been submitted, we should be able to find a way to notify certain roles, user groups, sites, organizations, (accounts?), or even choose all users, when a form or app is published.

Example Usage:

Imagine Liferay itself is modeled in a DXP environment using Organizations.

  • HR Organization
  • Engineering Organization
  • Global Services Organization

Jorge Ferrer is an Organization Admin in Engineering, and he wants to create a survey to allow all Engineering Organization members to vote on the 2021 engineering goals. Depending on his exact needs he can create a full App Builder application or just a standalone Form.

What if, instead of having to find an external tool to share the link to the engineering members, he could use built-in App Builder and Forms functionality to Publish and Notify? This would allow him to choose a collection of Users (or all Users in the DXP instance) who will all receive a notification in their email when he publishes the Form or App Builder app.
