I've tested it locally and it seems to be working for me.  Are you able to use that symbol in other places of the portal?  For example, could you use ₹ in the description of the product and check to see if it displays properly in the product publisher?  What about other currencies such as Japanese Yen?

Yes. It gives issues for the Indian currency. I guess for rest currencies, its working fine
