Hi All,

Our application is developed with liferay 4.2.1.

After security scan, We found some security issues with existing liferay version. We are planning to upgrade to the latest one.

Can any one please help us out to know what will be the complete procedure to upgrade to the latest liferay version.

Hi Jaya,

Taking into account that you are using an old Liferay version you have two approaches:
  • Start in the Liferay DXP 7 from the scratch and move the objects you need from your current version using the Liferay API
  • Upgrade to Liferay DXP 7 in two steps (there is no direct path from 4.2):

1- Upgrade first to Liferay 6.1
2- Upgrade to Liferay DXP 7

Thanks for response.

1- Upgrade first to Liferay 6.1, as per this doc if we are at liferay 5 or below we have to upgrade to 6 first using this doc. " Liferay Portal Administrator’s Guide ".

The mentioned link is not working. can you please provide some other source if possible.
