A new Kotlin Multiplatform framework for building Android, iOS, desktop, and web applications on top of Liferay.
Liferay already provides an impressive enterprise backend: authentication, users, roles, sites, documents, content, custom Objects, permissions, workflows, and headless APIs.
What it has lacked is a modern, unified client framework for building applications across every major platform.
That is the goal of KDXP.
KDXP is a Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform SDK that allows developers to build Android, iOS, Desktop JVM, and Web applications from one shared codebase.
Current capabilities include:
- OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code + PKCE
- Site discovery and switching
- Liferay Objects
- Documents and users
- Manifest-driven branding and navigation
- Role-aware navigation
- Adaptive mobile, tablet, and desktop layouts
- Site-aware deep links
The long-term vision is simple:
One codebase. All platforms. Powered by Liferay.
KDXP is currently in active development, and I am looking to connect with Liferay partners and enterprise teams interested in pilots, feedback, or collaboration.
